“Most people become uncomfortable or defensive when you point out how mental health care can be abusive. When I worked for a mental health charity, I was told never to share critiques of the mental health system because it might discourage ‘help-seeking behaviour'”.

I was told never to share critiques of the mental health system ? What better example could there be of the almost total shutdown of Free Speech to do with “mental health” ? This has become a lot more in focus since a certain Mr. Musk purchased Twitter which is now called X. The appalling crack down on any kind of Free Speech was revealed. What had formerly been “hate speech” was exposed in the Twitter Files as an active agenda to silence those who were simply saying things that some people did not want to hear. It’s been the same thing in the area of “mental health“. If you dutifully went along with the whole thing, took your “medication” and shut the fuck up about “perceived abuses” then you could merrily hang around with you bipolar and drugged-up-to-the-eyeballs friends and be part of a big fuzzy “mental health” community. However if you decide you want to keep your humanity intact, like I did, and not cut and run and forget the appalling abuses and violations of human and civil rights I’ve seen in the so called “mental health” system, then you could quickly find yourself sitting in the corner isolated and alone.

“In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot”

Yet we need to be warning people LOUDLY about the dangers of a mental health system sold out to pharmaceutical companies that are basically forms of organised crime at this point. This is not “keeping people away from help” its warning them of dangers so they can get genuine help ! A judicious application of Free Speech rights is due here.
